Cleansing diets are all the rage in Hollywood right now – celebrities love the healthy weight loss and improved complexion that that often accompany a detox diet. Beyonce, Gwyneth Paltrow and Anne Hathaway have all followed different cleansing diets over the past few years.
Whether it’s for some quick weight loss ahead of a big awards ceremony, or slimming down for a new role, Hollywood actresses are always searching out the latest, hottest new diet trends. And I’ve shared the best of them with you here on this page.
This beautiful singer has used the Master Cleanse to get in shape ever since her starring role in the movie Dreamgirls. The Master Cleanse is a great detoxifier, but its also a fantastic tool for losing a few pounds fast when you really need to.
This is sometimes called the Lemonade Diet, because of the mixture of lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper that you drink during each day. This is combined with a saltwater flush each morning and some herbal laxative tea each evening.
The Master Cleanse is not an easy detox plan, in fact its more of a fast regimen. However if you stick to it you can get some great results.
Gwyneth likes to do a fast or cleanse a couple of times a year. She’s tried the Master Cleanse and found it worked well for her but, together with her detox doctor, she has also created some cleansing diets of her own.
Here is a sample day of a detox diet that Gwyneth created as a post-Christmas cleanse …
7am: Glass of lemon water
8am: Herbal tea
10am: Blueberry and Almond Smoothie
11:30am: Coconut water
1:30pm: Salad with Carrot and Ginger Dressing
4pm: A handful of mixed pumpkin and sunflower seeds
6pm: Broccoli and Arugula Soup
… and a brief list of foods that you should avoid if you want to follow Gwyneth’s diet:
Dairy, grains with gluten, meat, shellfish, processed food (including soy products), fatty nuts, nightshades (potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant), condiments, sugar, alcohol, caffeine, soda
Apple cider vinegar can increase your metabolism and aid with weight loss, but it can also remove toxins from your body and help with problems such as acne, indigestion and high blood pressure.
This is not really a detox diet, but taking a little apple cider vinegar every day is a great tip for improving your health and losing a little weight.
Its a shortened version of the Master Cleanse, except the ingredients have been pre-prepared. You just drink the juice four times a day, for two days, and don’t eat anything else.
This is a great diet if you need to get in shape quick, so celebrities love to do it before awards shows. To be honest 48 hours is not enough to cleanse your system though, so I wouldn’t recommend it for serious detoxers, but a little healthy weight loss is never a bad thing!
